Lincoln Medical Center Announces New Ultrasound Service For Expectant Parents

Lincoln Health System is excited to offer 3D/4D ultrasounds in addition to their other ultrasound services.  Much like standard ultrasounds, 3D/4D ultrasounds use sound waves to produce an image of your baby while it is in your womb. The difference is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional still image of your baby, while 4D ultrasounds create a live video effect, like a movie – sometimes you can even catch your baby smile.

A gestational age of 28 – 32 weeks is recommended for best imaging results.  The expectant mother should drink at least 64 oz. of water each day for 7 days prior to exam to maximize fluid levels, and an additional 32 oz. of water just before the ultrasound. This fills the bladder and allows better visualization of the baby.

Exams are scheduled exclusively on Fridays through the scheduling department at Lincoln Medical Center.  The exam fee is $100, with accepted forms of payment being cash or debit/credit card.  Payment can be made at the time of scheduling, or the day of the exam.  Since this is an elective service and not intended for medical or diagnostic purposes, this ultrasound is not covered by insurance.

The expectant parents will receive a digital copy of the exam as well as printed images to commemorate the occasion.

If you would like more information on this or other services provided by Lincoln Medical Center’s Imaging Center or to schedule an appointment, please contact our Scheduling Department at 931-438-7494.
