Lincoln Health System anticipates its first shipment of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine today with vaccinations beginning as early as tomorrow.

Following the guidance from the state of Tennessee and federal authorities, LHS is carefully prioritizing the first doses received. Distribution of the vaccine will be determined by following the guidelines outlined by the Tennessee Department of Health, which are broken down into phases beginning with frontline health care workers at the highest risk of contracting and spreading the virus being vaccinated first.

The initial shipment will include only a small allotment, and will not allow for broad community distribution at this time, however, LHS is working closely with state health authorities to ensure readiness as soon as such availability is realized.

While the vaccine is a turning point in our fight against COVID-19, you should continue observing safety protocols such as wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently and practicing social distancing.  More updates will be provided as details become available about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Just guessing that most in Lincoln county are over 65, based on what I see. How will residents be informed of when, where, who gets the vaccine?
