Dr. Morrison Named to State Committee Aimed at Preventing Maternal Morbidity

Theresa Morrison, MD, Fayetteville, Tennessee’s only family practice/obstetrician, has been appointed to the Tennessee Maternal Mortality Review and Prevention Team for a term of three years.  According to the Tennessee Department of Health, the purpose of this committee is to identify opportunities to prevent maternal deaths and promote women’s health in Tennessee.  The expert panel will review maternal deaths (defined as all deaths of women while pregnant or within one year after the end of the pregnancy) and report recommendations for policy changes that would promote the safety of women and prevent maternal deaths.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve on this committee,” said Dr. Theresa Morrison.  “I appreciate the opportunity to work alongside these highly respected peers who share my passion for providing high quality, patient-focused care to all women.”

Dr. Morrison will serve on the committee comprised of a multidisciplinary team of experts with representation from public health, OB-GYN, maternal and fetal medicine, nurse-midwifery, medical examiner, mental health, domestic violence, hospital patient safety, anesthesiology, neonatology, pediatrics, nursing, and the Tennessee Senate and House of Representatives.  The team will meet at least quarterly to review all pregnancy-related cases.

Best OB-GYN in the world! I will never go to another GYN! She helped me through losing my baby and getting my rainbow baby here healthy! She is truly a life saver, a blessing, and a miracle in our lives!! Doc is absolutely the BEST(and blunt with her words, but only cause she truly cares about you!)!

She delivered my first and only child. I remember being a young, scared mom and she put all my insecurities to rest and did way past her part to ensure the best quality of care/life was received for the two of us. 9 years later, I’m now in my 5th year of practicing nursing. I give my patients a little piece of me because I know first hand it can make a difference. She is the definition of an earth angel.

Congratulations to Dr Morrison.!!!!!! I met her when she delivered my grandson in 2007, Dillion Godsey. My daughter, Kim, speaks highly of Dr Morrison and she is a compassionate and smart. She was there for my Kim through some life changing times. Our Dillion passed away at age two months and Dr Morrison was there for Kim then, too. . We are raising Dillons brother, 11 months older than Dillon and Logan is age ten now. Never forget Dr Morrision and her presence back then.

Her compassion and love for her work not to mention the love she has for her patients will make her a huge benefit! She has been my OBGYN through all 3 of my pregnancies. She is devoted to her patients and your health is always a top priority.
