Lincoln Health System is pleased to announce that Darren Holland has been named the 2019 Employee of the Year for the health system.
Darren has worked at Lincoln Health System since 1997. He started his career with LHS as a Maintenance Assistant and soon moved to the Materials Management Department where he currently served for 20 years. As the Procurement Supervisor, Darren has been an asset to the department helping to implement numerous cost-saving initiatives and LEAN projects.
By his coworkers, Darren has been described as an honest, dependable, motivated employee with a positive attitude. He has a strong work ethic and a desire to help others in any way he can.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Darren for the past two years. In that time, I really have gotten to know him, his work ethic, personality, and his commitment to the health system,” said Dave Wagner, Director of Materials Management. “Darren is one of those employees that comes along only once in a lifetime. He goes above and beyond every day to ensure each day is better than yesterday.”
The honor was awarded by the Employee Engagement Committee (EEC), a small group of highly involved employees from each area and facility in the health system. The EEC solicits nominations from health system employees each quarter and then a sub-committee of the EEC reviews the nominations for Employee of the Quarter. The quarterly winners were placed in the running for Employee of the Year. Darren was chosen as the 3rd quarter winner for 2019 and then as the Employee of the Year.
The Employee of the Year was honored at a reception where he received a commemorative plaque on March 3, 2020, at Lincoln Medical Center.
