Recently, the Lincoln Health System Foundation purchased four geriatric agility chairs for patient use at Lincoln-Donalson Care Center. The large padded chairs with a wheeled base provide support for those who struggle to sit upright on their own while allowing them to be moved throughout the facility.
“For our residents who have difficulty sitting upright in a regular chair or wheelchair, the availability of these specialized chairs can greatly impact their quality of life,” said Airess Johnson, Director of Nursing at LDCC and LHS Foundation Board Member. “Patients who otherwise would spend most of their day in their bed or room are now able to travel into common areas where they can sit up and interact with other residents and participate in the facility’s activities.”
The administration and staff at Lincoln-Donalson Care Center are grateful for the Foundation’s generous contribution and their continued support of Lincoln Health System.
The LHS Foundation funds projects like this through generous donations and fundraising events like the upcoming David R. Groce Memorial Boston Butt Sale, scheduled for May 9, 2020, and the recent RADA Cutlery Fundraising Sale.
