Long –term care facilities across Tennessee, including, Lincoln-Donalson Care Center (LDCC), will recognize the contributions of the state’s 30,000 nursing home employees on Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day, Friday, November 22.
From nurses and therapists providing medical care and treatments to cooks preparing nutritious meals, and activity directors planning engaging programs, it takes a team of caregivers to provide around the clock care in Tennessee’s nursing homes. These dedicated men and women are responsible for meeting the patients’ mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs, and work together to ensure their residents receive the best care possible.
“Being a caregiver in a nursing home requires both commitment to your profession and compassion for others,” said John Lavender, interim-administrator for Lincoln-Donalson Care Center. “This is a calling for them, not just a job. We are proud to honor the caregivers in our facility and across the state.”
Lincoln-Donalson Care Center is a member of the Tennessee Health Care Association, a non-profit organization whose members include long-term care facilities located throughout the state. The facility can care for up to 180 patients and provides both long-term care services and skilled nursing care to Lincoln County and the surrounding areas.
