Lincoln Medical Center (LMC) proudly announced they have earned a 4-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the second rating period in a row. The ratings range from 1-5 stars and are updated twice each year. The 4-star ranking places LMC in the top 30% of hospitals nationwide ranked in the survey.
CMS released the updated ratings on the Hospital Compare website and data.medicare.gov on October 30, 2019. The new ratings are based on updated data from the following measure groups:
- Patient experience of care
- Timely and effective care
- Complications and death, including infections
“Earning a 4-star rating for the second rating period in a row shows how committed this hospital and its staff are to providing quality care to our friends and neighbors in this community,” said Carrie Rogers, Director of Nursing for Lincoln Medical Center. “This accomplishment is something the community, as a whole, can be proud of.”
The purpose of CMS’s overall hospital star-rating is to show how well each hospital performed in comparison to other hospitals in the U.S. and assist patients in making educated decisions when choosing a health care provider. The ratings are available at www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare.
