Fighting cancer is everybody fighting. That is just what Dr. Morrison and her staff at Stonebridge Medical did to spread awareness in the fight against cancer. Their entire office took part in teaming up to raise money for this year’s Relay for Life.
Thereska Morrison, Dr. Morrison’s daughter took the job as team leader and developed a t-shirt that not only their staff purchased, but various members of the community. A Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day basket were also created and given away as well as a donation from Lost Highway Tattoo for a $100.00 tattoo. Donations were taken on the baskets and then two winners drawn. Donations to the baskets were made by Monk’s Market, Faron’s Oasis Hair Studio and Spa, Yamato Japanese Steakhouse, Cahoots Restaurant, Little Caesars, Star Wheels Skate Center, Hardees, Trendy Cuts Salon, Pure Tanning, Tracy Nails, Plant City, And Zem Sum Photography, Body and Sol, Top Dawg’s, Gowan Car Care Center, Whitt’s Bar-B-Q, Trendy Cuts, and Ralphael’s Italian Restaurant. Karen Campbell was the winner of the Father’s Day Basket, and Tonya Hobbs won the Mother’s Day Basket. Beech Grove United Methodist Church also donated $100.00. As a team, Stonebridge Medical raised $1,100.00 before the Relay even began.
“I am amazed by the outpouring of support that we received, everyone in some form or fashion has been touched by cancer, explains Dr. Theresa Morrison. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our patients are. Everyone that has been to see me has wanted to donate or give back in some way. Many of our patients related to their fight against cancer beginning with their diagnosis locally at Lincoln Medical Center. Early detection is key, and is available with our state of the art Radiology department and the expertise of our radiologist Dr. Doug Layman and our surgeon Dr. Ted Cobb. We were proud to be a part of the Relay for Life and consider ourselves fortunate to be able to practice medicine in this outstanding community.”
